Custom Card Design
IC Group's experienced design team creates custom payment cards and accompanying collateral for a wide range of card programs. From traditional debit and credit cards to premium metal and specialty cards, our designers develop designs that reflect each client's brand and program needs.
Our design capabilities include specialty finishes and features such as spot gloss, engraving, unique textures, metallic effects, and custom color treatments. Beyond the card itself, we also design custom carriers, packaging, and supporting materials to create a consistent look throughout the cardholder experience.
For programs that need a faster, more cost-effective option, we offer semi-custom "logo drop" designs. Clients can select from existing layouts, colors, textures, and finishes, then incorporate their own branding without starting the design process from scratch.
Weighted & Metal
For card programs designed to stand apart, IC Group offers premium metal and weighted card options that combine a distinctive look and feel with everyday functionality. Options include brushed stainless steel, matte black finishes, metal veneers, hybrid constructions, laser etching, and other premium treatments.
Our metal and hybrid cards are engineered for durability, security, and reliable ATM and point-of-sale use. Specialized construction methods and precision-bonded EMV chips maintain functionality, while metal-veneer and dual-interface options support contactless payments without sacrificing a premium feel.
Additional customization options include deep laser engraving, CNC machining, and laser-etched cardholder information for a distinctive, long-lasting finish.
Finishes & Treatments
IC Group offers a variety of specialty finishes and treatments that add visual contrast, texture, and a premium feel to payment cards without changing the underlying card construction. Our team helps clients select options that align with their brand, durability needs, and production requirements.
Options include matte finishes for a smooth, fingerprint-resistant surface, spot gloss and post-laminate varnishes to highlight specific design elements, and full-face foils in gold, silver, tinted, or holographic finishes. Metallic hot stamping adds a distinct tactile effect to logos, tier names, and other design features using heat and pressure to bond foil to selected areas of the card.
These treatments can be used individually or combined to create custom designs that stand out while maintaining everyday durability and functionality.
Eco-Friendly Solutions
For issuers working toward sustainability goals, IC Group offers alternative card materials including recycled PVC, ocean-bound plastic, bio-sourced materials, and other lower-impact substrates that reduce reliance on virgin PVC.
These materials support premium design features such as matte textures, metallic foils, laser engraving, ghost images, and micro-printing. Each material is evaluated for heat resistance, flexibility, delamination resistance, chip protection, antenna performance, and compatibility with payment-network and ISO requirements.
